4POS SC is aimed at the outlet that needs a multi terminal point of sale solution. The 4POS SC application has the same functionality and look as our 4POS Retail and may simply be used as a stand alone point of sale terminal with no clients. In use as a multi terminal situation it is typically used as the main sales terminal (or back office) with up to five clients installed in the same workgroup each of which allow the main sales operations to be processed. The server contains the database management system with no inventory information held on the clients. No additional hardware is required by either the server or clients but facilities are provided for receipt printers, cash drawers and pole displays. Transactions are individually allocated with a secure associate log on for easy trackablility Professional print facilities provided include custom receipts with logo and barcode printing. |

The server and client may be run on the same computer for evaluation purposes. The product requires a Microsoft 'Workgroup' network. The shareware versions may be used to check connectivity. Note that Windows XP service pack 2 was known to affect remote procedure calls (Service pack 3 corrected it). The Windows firewall being disabled may also simplify any connectivity issues.
